Residents and civil society actors from Nefta in the Governorate of Tozeur, organized a symbolic sit-in on Tuesday in front of the Hazoua border post to request the reopening of the borders shut down for more than 2 years because of the COVID-19 pandemic. In a statement to TAP, Wadi Hassine, one of the organizers of the sit-in, stated a letter was sent to the Algerian and Tunisian authorities, calling for the borders to be reopened as soon as possible, with the return to regular land transport between European countries and the continued decline in the number of contaminations by the coronavirus.
