Tunisia – Tozeur: Good prospects for tourism during this holiday season

The Tozeur Regional Tourism Delegation predicts that good activity will be registered during this holiday period and the celebration of the administrative New Year. The rate of reservations in tourist units for the first holiday period will attain 92 percent, and this percentage will increase to 100 percent during the Administrative New Year celebrations, according to the regional delegate for tourism, Adel Sbeita.

Sbeita added that the figures anticipated to be recorded within two weeks could surpass the figures recorded last year, due to the growing demand for this tourist destination, with the interest of Tunisian tourists in different tourist services, notably accommodation in tourist units. And the number of arrivals is expected to exceed 30,000, coinciding with… The peak of tourist and cultural activities.

He indicated that in anticipation of this period, the Regional Tourism Commission had launched a series of preparations since the end of November, through an extended meeting with different stakeholders in the tourism sector, to coordinate efforts sought to improve the situation of the tourism sector the tourist environment and guarantee the cleanliness of towns and trails with municipalities, civil society and those who work directly or indirectly on the ground, such as hotel owners, travel agencies, tourist restaurants, the association tourist vehicles and craft stores.

A meeting likewise took place with the Tozeur International Oasis Festival Authority, under the oversight of the Minister of Tourism. The renewed support of the Ministry for the festival was confirmed because it is one of the important promotional events for the tourism product and has an economic and revitalizing dimension.
