Civil protection units at Tozeur succeeded to extinguish a fire that engulfed palm trees in the Old Oasis, behind one of the tourist spaces. The fires partially damaged 15 palm trees, blazed 50 square meters of dry herbs and a palm grove fence, announced regional director of civil protection Salem Yousfi.
The same source that the rapid intervention as well harnessing all material saved the fire spread despite the presence of wind and its control at an early time. He pointed out that most reported fires reported in the region recently are restricted to fires that result from burning the waste to clean the agricultural exchanges.
