Tunisia-Tunis court of first instance grants bail to Abderrahim Zouari

Abderrahim Zouari, a notable figure in the business world in Tunisia, could be freed on bail after a decision taken by the dean of the investigating judges of the Court of First Instance of Tunis. This release will follow the payment of bail fixed at 18 million dinars.

As a reminder, the senior investigating judge had ordered the arrest of Mr. Zouari on November 10, as part of an inquiry into a public procurement case regarding the purchase of seven vehicles by the Office of the Merchant Navy.

A judicial investigation has been opened to verify the compliance of this transaction with regulations relating to public procurement. The decision to release Mr Zouari was conditional on the payment of the bail imposed.
