Two donation contracts meriting 5.8 million Swiss francs (about 17 million dinars), were signed between Tunisia and Switzerland to finance the textile sector and the 2nd phase of the PAMPAT project, intended to develop regional products.
The first donation (1.5 million Swiss francs) proposes at funding the textile/clothing sector competitiveness reinforcement programme, through the growth of exports by contributing technical assistance to enterprises working in the sector.
The second donation (4.1 million Swiss francs) will back the PAMPAT 2 project over a 5 years period (2020/2024), directed at strengthening the prickly pear sector and supporting three new sectors, particularly, date, dried tomato and pomegranate derivatives.
