Tunisia-Tunisia condemns aggression by occupation against Palestinian ,calls to provide “the necessary international protection to the Palestinian people

Tunisia has firmly denounced the assaults carried out by the occupation forces and Jewish settlers in the occupied Palestinian territories, particularly in Jenin, Bethlehem, Bab al-Amoud in Jerusalem. It likewise denounced the repeated raids against the sanctity of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and aggression on the worshippers, blasting the breach of the holy places, especially in Ramadan.

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Tunisia stated these attacks reflect again “the continuation of the occupying forces in their racist and discriminating policies,” and “their indifference for all resolutions and international covenants. Tunisia repeated its call to the international community to assume its complete”legal and moral responsibility” towards the Palestinian people, with respect to the treatment of issues linked to the occupation and aggression with “the same standards and criteria”.

Tunisia also stressed the necessity to provide “the required international protection to the Palestinian people” and to confront the crimes of the occupier, which comprise a “flagrant violation of international law and UN resolutions. “This is a threat to international peace and security” that may “undermine efforts to reach a just and comprehensive settlement in the region,” cautions the Foreign Affairs Department. Tunisia was also keen to reaffirm its principled position in support of the Palestinian people and their just cause.
