Tunisia was elected, in the person of Professor of Medicine Tahar Gargah, to chair the “Programme, Budget and Administration Committee” of the Executive Board of the World Health Organisation (WHO), at the virtual electoral conference held on Friday in Geneva.
Approving Tunisia’s candidacy to chair this committee is “international recognition of its success and its adherence to the implementation of WHO programmes for the benefit of humanity, said Gargah. “This is considered an acknowledgement of the national health system that strives to achieve the goals of universal health coverage,” he added. |
