Tunisia-Tunisia exported 17.7% of dates to Morocco in 2023

During the 2022/2023 campaign, the National Agricultural Observatory (ONAGRI) reports that Tunisia exported approximately 22.9 thousand tonnes of dates to Morocco, making it the primary destination with 17.7% of the total exported quantities. Italy and France followed as the second and third destinations, accounting for 7.8% and 7.6%, respectively.

In terms of continental distribution, exports to Europe represented 48.7%, while those destined for Africa accounted for 25.2%. Asia received 14.9% of the exported volume, and only 5.3% was directed to America.

For the new 2023/2024 campaign, which began in October 2023, Tunisian date exports reached 7.3 thousand tonnes, valued at 46.1 million dinars. This reflects a 2.3% decrease in volume but a 6.7% increase in value compared to October 2022. The average price for the month increased by 9.2% to reach 6.35 DT/kg.
