Tunisia-Tunisia firmly denies any possibility of normalization with zionist entity

Tunisia’s Foreign Ministry issued a firm statement following circulating news in several media on the possibility of establishing diplomatic relations between Tunisia and the Zionist Entity.

The ministry stressed that these promoted allegations are baseless and contradict the republic of  Tunisia official position which in support of the just Palestinian cause and supportive of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.

In this sense, the department reminded of the president of the republic Kias Saied solid position who emphasised on numerous occasions that the rights of the Palestinian people are absolute and impermissible, foremost among which is their right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent state with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.

“This principled stance arises from the will of the Tunisian people and expresses what they feel in terms of solidarity and certain support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, which have been secured to them by several international references and resolutions of the United Nations and its different bodies, particularly the United Nations Security Council and the General Assembly, it was similarly adopted by many other international and regional organizations. Tunisia restates its full belief that a just, lasting and comprehensive peace cannot be installed in the region without achieving the international legitimacy decisions concerning the rights of the Palestinian people to retrieve their stolen land and establish their independent state”, reads the statement.

Tunisia upholds the sovereign positions of various nations, it asserts that this position is solid and principled and will not be affected by changes in the international arena, and it likewise reflects what the President of the Republic has communicated, on more than one occasion, about the concept of normalization, which is considered misplaced because the normal position is That the Palestinian people regain their full and undiminished rights” adds the statement.

In conclusion, the department reemphasised Tunisia’s adherence not to partake in any initiative that violates the legitimate rights of the brotherly Palestinian people, and that it is not interested in building diplomatic relationships with the Zionist entity as long as it maintains its policies that flout international legitimacy decisions and principles of international law.
