Tunisia-Tunisia reiterates its firm position in favor of Palestinian people

On instructions from the President of the Republic, Mr. Nabil Ammar, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad, led the Tunisian delegation to the Summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, whose fifteenth session began today in the Gambian capital “Banjul” with the participation of 57 Islamic countries,reads a press release by the Foreign Ministry.
Mr. Nabil Ammar delivered the speech of the President of the Republic, in which he stressed in particular the need for the Islamic world to remain united and unite its word to support the Palestinian people, who are being subjected to a genocide by the occupying entity, as well as the importance of concerted efforts to immediately stop this barbaric war and provide all forms of humanitarian support and relief to the Palestinians and lift the siege imposed on them throughout Palestine.
On this occasion, the Minister reiterated Tunisia’s firm position in favor of the right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent and fully sovereign State on all its territories, with Al Quds Al Sharif as its capital.
The speech of the President of the Republic at the Summit also stressed the importance of strengthening the relations of cooperation and solidarity between the Islamic countries and developing their political, cultural and economic exchanges and relations in order to serve the interests of their peoples and defend their common causes,adds the same source.
On the other hand, on the sidelines of the Summit, Mr. Nabil Ammar met with the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the Secretary General of the Cooperation Council of the Gulf Arab States and the President of the Islamic Development Bank Group. He also held meetings with the heads of delegations of Algeria, Morocco, Palestine, Iraq, Oman, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Qatar, Indonesia, Gambia, Senegal, Cameroon, Togo and Gabon, addressing bilateral relations between Tunisia and their respective countries as well as issues of common interest.
