The Tunisian National Nurses Union has announced that a strike will take place on September 30 and October 1 to demand the creation of a scientific committee that includes all health executives and the activation of a clear health protocol to cope to the coronavirus pandemic.
The union also demanded in a statement on Tuesday the approval of general confinement for an extended week and the provision of adequate working conditions for health workers in terms of equipment worthy of the effort deployed.
The union organization underlined “the need to create and activate laws that improve the professional and health status of nurses through the creation of a public administration for nursing care, the cancellation of contracts and the filling of nurses. vacancies through direct assignments, as well as the revision of subsidies, the revision of all social conditions and the promulgation of a fundamental law ”.
The Nurses Union called on “its members to take all preventive measures and service to patients according to the rules and ethics of the profession”, noting that it “has alerted many people to the seriousness of the situation given how to deal with crises and the lack of an effective national strategy to deal with the Corona pandemic ”
