Tunisia-Tunisia to Invest TND 367 million in Air Transportation

The Tunisian government is getting set to announce a package of TND367 million ($131 million) value of investments to increase three airports in the country, reported Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper.
Carthage International Airport will get a staggering amount of around TND300 million ($100 million) so that it can manage around 8 million passengers a year.
The runways of Djerba – Zarzis International Airport and Tozeur – Nefta International Airport in the southwest are also set to be developed in 2020.
Moreover, Tunisair is planning to enhance its fleet by approving a conclusive deal to purchase five new Airbus A320 aircraft. It is also expected that three A320s will be leased. The movements will enable Tunisair to enlarge the number of its passengers to 5 million.
The fleet consists of 27 planes. It also has a workforce of approximately 8,000 employees, added Al-Awsat.
