Minister of Tourism, Mohamed Moez Belhassine revealed that about 4.1 million tourists visited Tunisia until September 10, 2022, an increase of 161.4% compared to 2021 and with a gap of -38.1 %, compared to 2019.
Belhassine said that tourism revenue has been set at 2,662.7 million dinars until August 31, 2022, growing by 82% compared to 2021 and with a difference of -29.4% compared to 2019. These revenues were about 819 million euros and $ 876 million.
He indicated that the number of tourist nights spent in Tunisia, rose from 148.2% to 12,729,652 nights, until August 31, 2022, compared to 2021 and with a deviation of -39.4% compared to 2019.
The minister said that the tourism sector remains a vital sector despite the difficulties it encountered, the minister said that the shortfall of the sector because of the coronavirus is 9 billion Dinars.
