Tunisia – Tunisian diplomat Tarek Ben Salem appointed secretary general of AMU

In accordance with the provisions of the Treaty establishing the Arab Maghreb Union of 1989, and at the suggestion of His Excellency the President of the Republic Kais Saïed, and after the approval of all the Leaders of the member states of the Union, it was decided to appoint Tunisian diplomat Mr. Tarak Ben Salem as Secretary-General of the Arab Maghreb Union for a period of three years starting from June 1, 2024, reads a press release by the foreign ministry.
