Have you woken up yesterday to see you Facebook feed filled with cartoons, have you ever wondered what happens. Facebook turned into a small Disneyland as Facebook users switched to using an avatar. The small designed pictures took various shapes , designs and even the items of clothing.
But what’s happening Facebook has started Avatars in Africa to give people new ways to signify themselves online. Avatars are digital personas that allow users to engage across Facebook and Messenger in a more personal way. Users can use their personalised avatar to partake a range of emotions and expressions via a digital persona that is unique to them, much like Bitmoji’s.
“Facebook is home to some of your most personal content and we want to allow people to share and react to that content in the most personalized way possible,” says Nunu Ntshingila, Regional Director of Facebook Africa.
“We’re excited to give people more options to convey their identity on Facebook, allowing them to share in a more personal, light-hearted.
