Tunisia-Tunisians join Black Lives Matter protest

Tunisian demonstrators rallied in front of the Municipal Theatre in the capital in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement in the wake of the death in police custody of George Floyd in the United States.

Protesters claimed the right to “Tunisia free from human rights abuses,” the TAP reported.

They waved placards calling for “Tunisia without racism.”

Students from sub-Saharan African countries living in Tunis staged representations on the suffering of victims of police and social violence and the repression of freedoms, including the scene of George Floyd’s death.
