Tunisia’s date exports surpassed 60,000 tonnes, delivered for the European, Maghreb and Asian markets, announced regional director of the Tozeur inter-professional date grouping Ali Taher Bouazizi. These numbers exceed the prior seasons’ by 3,000, recording total revenues of approximately 440 million dinars.
The dates’ exports in Tozeur governorate have reached 12,140 tonnes since the commencement of the harvest season in October 2019, Bouazizi stated, generating 96.7 million dinars worth of revenues.
Tozeur covers 22% of the sector’s exports and 23% of revenues nationwide, Bouazizi told TAP correspondent.
