MP for the Bab El Bhar constituency in Tunis, Adel Bouselmi, confirmed today, Monday, March 25, 2024, the fall of the roof of a home on the road of Bab El Khadhra in Tunis last night, wounding a mother and her daughter and causing material damage to the building, while the rest of the family spent the night in the street, according to him.
Speaking on Mosaïque FM, Bouselmi emphasised that he had already cautioned a local authority official of the potential of the collapse of houses in this neighbourhood due to the damage suffered and the lack of maintenance given the weakness of the residents’ financial capacities, stating that the incident happened around ten in the evening, but local officials told him that they could not intervene, according to him.
Bouselmi also remarked that the injured girl did not receive the required medical treatment quickly at one of the capital’s hospitals before neighbours intervened to transport her to a private clinic.
