Tunisia-U.S nationals not permitted to enter Tunisia unless they have Tunisian citizenship or residency permit

About 105 countries around the world classified in terms of epidemiological risk are concerned by the re-opening of the borders on June 27. In accordance with the classification the United States was classified in the red zone, hence U.S nationals will not be permitted to enter  Tunisia unless they have Tunisian citizenship or residency permit, announced the U.S embassy in Tunisia.

In an issue a Facebook post on its official page, the embassy said” The Government of Tunisia has announced preliminary guidance for the reopening of all land, air, and maritime borders on Saturday, June 27. The GOT has divided countries into three zones (red, orange, and green) based on the number of cases and epidemiological situation in each country – the United States is considered a “red” country and U.S. citizens will not be permitted to enter Tunisia unless they also hold Tunisian citizenship or a valid Tunisian residency permit. All individuals entering Tunisia, regardless of nationality, are required to quarantine upon arrival”

“For the most updated list, please visit the Observatoire National des Maladies Nouvelles et Emergentes page (note – countries not specifically designated “green” or “orange” are considered “red”). More details on our web site: https://tn.usembassy.gov/message-for-us-citizens-62620/” the announcement adds.
