Tunisia-UGTT accuses government of deducting more than a day from wages

The Tunisian General Labour Union” UGTT ”accused PM Fakhfakh government of having turned their back on the reduction of the wages action as part of the support for the efforts of the state in its Combat against COVID-19.

Member of UGTT executive bureau Abdelkrim Jrad said: “what the government has done is not deserving of a self-respecting government.”

He judged that the government had turned its back against the initiative proposed concerning an exceptional circumstantial offering for the benefit of the state coffers by subtracting more than one day worth of wages.

In a statement to Mosaique FM, he affirmed that the government assessed the reduction amount from annual income and bonuses and not from monthly salary which is divided by 30.
