Tunisia-UGTT-Noureddine Taboubi: “There is no question of lifting subsidies or decreasing wages”

Remarking on the negotiations with the International Monetary Fund, the general secretary of the UGTT, Noureddine Tabboubi highlighted, in a statement to El Watania 1 TV that the UGTT objects the lifting subsidies and lowering salaries.

He likewise cited contradictions in the discourse on lifting subsidies in light of low wages and widespread poverty, underscoring that there is no question of freezing wages for a period of 5 years. Taboubi expressed the credibility of negotiations with the IMF is not compromised, believing it to be “substantive issue”. “

It is not likely to advance the situation of the country without achieving political stability and forming a positive environment to attract investment,” he added. In the same context, Taboubi stressed the “need to elucidate with justice and fairness the cases of political assassinations”.
