The Tunisian coordination of unemployed doctors and doctoral researchers, declared Monday, January 11, 2021, that eight doctors have begun an open hunger strike within the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, , the strikers are as follows:
Malek Haji, Fathi Misaoui, Adnan Midouni, Fathi Al Saadi, Anissa Sghaier, Marwa Nasir, Mohamed Ghoul and Hanene Banhissi.
The declaration comes after a meeting held with a government delegation, which did not answer the demands of the unemployed.
As a reminder, unemployed doctors have been observing an open sit-in in front of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research for 7 months, to demand their right to employment.
General strikes and sit-ins keep on going one after the other across the nation . Doctors, the unemployed and politicians appeal to the state, which seems to have other concerns.
