Tunisia: unemployment rate has hardly changed in the 3rd quarter 2022

According to statistics issued by the National Statistics Institute (INS), the unemployment rate stabilized, during the third quarter of 2022, at 15.3%, despite the decline in the number of unemployed set at 613,600 people against 626,100 individuals, of the total active population estimated at more than 4.01 million occupied.

The unemployment rate just increased for men (13.2% against 13.1% in the second quarter of 2022) while it slightly fell for women (20.4% against 20.5% in the second quarter of 2022 ).

Also according to the INS, the occupied population stays unequally distributed among the two sexes: 2.46 million men against 0.93 million women (or 73% and 27% of the busy working population respectively).
