US State Department Spokesman Ned Price said during today’s press briefing that the United States is awaiting the official referendum outcome based on the independent high authority for elections in Tunisia.
“As we always affirmed is up to the Tunisian people to decide their political future and will continue to stand with the Tunisian people calling for a return to a responsive transparent and accountable democratic government that respects human right and priorities the country’s economic future”, he said.
