Tunisia-Video: After emergence of new strain, Nissaf Ben Alaya appeals to Tunisians

The official spokesperson of the Ministry of Health, Nissaf Ben Alaya announced that it was necessary to maintain the implementation of health protocols against the Coronavirus, particularly with the emergence of the new strain.

Dr Alaya stated “the epidemiological situation is declining significantly”, criticising the indifference and lack of responsibility of citizens in the application of preventive measures.

She further said that it was determined to strengthen the health control procedures for travellers upon their arrival in Tunisia, then to isolate those who prove to be contaminated, as part of the preparations to control the spread of the new virus strain.

“It’s an exceptional year. We may not be rejoicing the New Year, but we will experience greater losses if we do not apply the preventive measures, We cannot resume a normal way of life, except after controlling the virus, ”she explains.
