Speaking to Tunisie Numérique, the Head of the UTICA regional office in Beja affirmed that the executive office held a meeting this morning with the union chambers of the sectors concerned by the consequences of the general lockdown decision in force from 9 till 16 May 2021.
He pointed out that UTICA is closely watching the evolution of the health and economic situation, emphasising the necessity to respect the health measures.
He further called on the authorities to declare support measures for the most affected sectors, stipulating that the absence of aid and subsidies is driving many sectors to boycott the general lockdown decision and to continue their activities during the period of Eid El- Fitr.
“If their activities are halted, how will they be able to pay their taxes?” he asked.
