Tunisia-[Video] Haykel Mekki: Habib Bourguiba Avenue was militarized today

Speaking to Tunisie Numérique,Echaab MP  Haykel Mekki revealed today February 06, 2021, that the commemoration of the martyrdom of Chokri Belaid is a national duty.

Mekki explained that it was important to join the people to rectify the course of the Revolution and condemn the practices of the Muslim Brotherhood and political Islam as well as those of prime minister Hichem Mechichi against the youth and the people. The MP has reproached Mechichi “for his involvement in the brotherhood plan”.

He additionally emphasised that the truth must be revealed, calling on the judiciary to be independent and expose the truth and not station security forces to the point that it shifts to be a militia in the hands of the brotherhood.

In the same context, he estimated that “the system has collapsed, morally and legally”, adding that “Habib Bourguiba avenue has been militarized and that all the entrances of the city have been shut down to deter young people wanting to participate in the demonstration”.

Mekki also called on the Interior Ministry not to put the police in a confrontation with the people.
