Tunisia-[Video] Haykel Mekki:Kais Saied is the supreme commander of the armed, military and security forces

Speaking to Tunisie Numérique, Democratic bloc MP Haykel Mekki stated commented on the latest restrictive measures adopted by the government as well as the latest statements by President Kais Saied.

On Managing the health crisis,Mekki maintained that the current government has failed to handle the crisis, pointing out that more than 5,000 deaths have been documented in the past 3 months.

According to him, the government has not taken into account the vulnerable classes and those affected by the consequences of the Coronavirus.“The citizens are scared of the future. They are afraid of the health situation and their food security ”he stated.

On the other hand, the MP commented on the last speech of the President of the Republic Kais Saied in which he made it apparent that he was the supreme commander of the armed, military and security forces.

”The law and the Constitution are clear. Kais Saied is the supreme commander of the armed, military and security forces. It is only the Muslim Brotherhood and terrorist organizations that object to Saied’s reading, ”he added.

Mekki also explained that Saied was elected by 3 million people and that the real coup d’etat is that of the Ennahdha Movement which seeks at all costs to control all state institutions including security and military institutions.

He also added that prime minister  Hichem Mechichi is just a puppet carrying out the orders of Rached Ghannouchi.
