Tunisia-Video: Health minister unveils faith of 1818 funds ,confirms shortage of medicines

Speaking to Tunisie Numérique Health Minister Faouzi Mehdi stressed that the ministry has issued a full report on the faith of the 1818 fund and how they are disbursed. He also indicated that account will be permanently published in a paragraph on the ministry’s website, and to date, this account contains 200 million dinars.

Asked on the shortage of medicines, he replied that a notable shortage of several medicines has been reported, and this is largely due to the reluctance of foreign suppliers to provide Tunisia with these medicines for not paying their debts, noting that this topic was the focus of a session between the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Finance and the Insurance Fund.

Finally, Mr Mahdi expressed surprise at health workers strike, adding that hat the Ministry scatters medical supplies to all hospitals every 15 days, and has designated auditors to conduct inspections against all misconduct behaviour.
