Tunisia-[Video] Hsouna Nasfi: Ministerial reshuffle is part of exclusive powers of Prime minister

In a statement to Tunisie Numérique, this Tuesday, January 26, 2021, president of the National Reform parliamentary group Hsouna Nasfi affirmed that “whether we like it or not, the cabinet reshuffle is part of the exclusive competence of the prime minister”.

Condemning the analogy made by President Kais Saied who yesterday “compared ” the Tunisian constitution to a pair of shoes, the MP stated that with this reshuffle, Hichem Mechichi will support to further harmonize government job.

With this in mind, he added that the President of the Republic has no right to decline to take the oath because his constitutional powers in this matter are quite restricted and that once parliamentary confidence has been granted, the head of the State has no option but to comply with the decision of the people’s representatives.
