Tunisia-[Video] Iyadh Elloumi: Confidence should be withdrawn from Kais Saied

Remarking on the motion of censure launched against House speaker, Qalb Tounes MP Iyadh Elloumi stated that in his opinion, if there is a withdrawal of confidence it should be made against the President of the Republic Kais Saied.

speaking to Tunisie Numérique,he said that although he is directly elected by the people, the invasion of constitutional rules and the misuse of power on the part of the Head of State must not go unpunished, especially his refusal to agree to finalize the procedure for the assignment of new ministers.

It is a topic of principle, the cabinet reshuffle is part of the exclusive competence of the prime minister and if Mechichi consents to take a step back, it would set a serious precedent, said the MP.

He also examined that the calls launched by Kais Saied to dissolve Parliament amounted to calls for anarchy, which is not admissible on the part of the President of the Republic.
