Speaking to Tunisie Numérique,Child Protection Officer in Beja Hela Jebara announced two children were severely assaulted and mistreated by their stepfather.
Jebara pointed out that the perpetrator used his wife’s arrest to physically assault the two victims. The official, consequently, indicated that the research unit specializing in fighting violence against women and children had been reached to take care of the case.
After being subjected to a medical examination, the children were interviewed by a psychologist in the presence of the official in question.
Jebara added that the victims have been admitted provisionally to a specialized centre to receive the essential services and care as well as the psychological follow-up they need.
