Citizens of Oued Zarga from Testour delegation of the governorate of Beja, organized a protest on Monday, March 22, 2021, on the occasion of the visit of prime minister Hichem Mechichi to the region.

One of the demonstrators protested about the pollution of the Oued which outlines a source of life for them, denouncing their marginalization.

He deplored that the dispensary is empty and does not have emergency service or ambulance, assuring that residents do not have sanitation pipes. Citizens who held up posters with their demands emphasised that they asked to declare the city of 12,000 inhabitants as a delegation or to create a municipality there but to no avail.

The protesters condemned the actions of investors who do not respect the specifications which stipulate the recruitment of 50 to 60 inhabitants of the region but who only hire three at most.

They likewise highlighted the pollution of the Sidi Salem dam, launching an alarming crime to end it.
