The regional health director of Sousse, Mohamed Ghodbani stated that the visit of the delegation of the World Health Organization (WHO) office in Tunisia to the Sahloul CHU intends to inquire about the work carried out in first lines of the fight against Covid-19.
Speaking to Tunisie Numérique,he said that it intends to assess the Covid-19 therapeutic protocol at the level of beds with oxygen and ICU departments in order to overcome the shortcomings.
Referring to the epidemiological situation, Ghodbani announced that more than 2,700 coronavirus infections have been recorded since the opening of the borders last June as well as more than 182 deaths.
In addition, he announced the recording of a downward inclination. The daily rate of infections is currently between 60 and 70 cases.
This drop can be explained, he said, by the implementation of physical distancing measures, hand washing and the wearing of masks. According to Ghodbani, if citizens comply more with these preventive measures, the number of contaminations will fall further.
