In a statement to Tunisie Numérique today, attorney and political activist Imed Ben Halima commented on the Ennahdha Movement demonstration scheduled for February 6 to reclaim leader Noureddine Bhiri.
Remembering that this symbolic date overlaps with the 9th anniversary of the assassination of Chokri Belaïd, Ben Halima stated that the Islamists have employed the technique of victimization to disrupt the political scene and tangle security units. According to him, the protesters will aim to make confrontations with security agents to demand the intervention of human rights organizations. “On that date, the leaders of the secret apparatus of the Islamist party should have been brought to justice,” Ben Halima said.
According to the activist, the Nahdhawis do not desire to take to the streets alone and desire to hide behind the protesters who fight against the regime of the Islamist party as well as the divergence of the July 25 process made by the Head of State Kais Saied. Ben Halima also criticised the ban on demonstrations for health reasons, pointing to congestion in public transport.
