Tunisia-[Video]:Protest rally of general practitioners

General practitioners today observed demonstration rallies in front of the headquarters of the Ministry of Health and in front of the headquarters of the regional health directorates to condemn the approval of Government Decree No. 2019-341 establishing the general framework of the studies regime and the qualifications for obtaining medical diplomas.

The demonstrators believed that through this decree, the authorities were showing their thoughtlessness in the face of the sacrifices made by general practitioners, particularly in connection with the fight against the coronavirus.

According to the decree, general practitioners need to undergo training and pass examinations so that they have the equivalent rank as family doctors, the protesters declared.

They called for the removal of the decree or the establishment of transitional jurisdictions, to upgrade all general practitioners to the rank of “family doctors”, without training and without competition.
