President of the European Commission, Ursula Von der Leyen, stated today, Thursday, January 18, 2024, in Davos, that Tunisia can always rely on the support of the European Union to confront its multiple challenges and continue its path of reforms.
She added, during her meeting in Davos, with Prime Minister Ahmed El Hachani, “The European Union continues to support Tunisia because it is a distinguished partner, endowed with significant capacities and multiple opportunities in various promising sectors”.
She examined, with the head of government, who is leading the Tunisian delegation partaking in the 54th session of the World Economic Forum (Davos 2024), which officially opened Monday, January 15, 2024, in Davos, Switzerland, the economic and social situation in Tunisia. , emphasising ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation and trade between the two sides.
She said: “We are operating with Tunisia to execute different aspects of the strategic partnership, notably those associated with economic and social aspects,” noting that the European Union is the largest foreign investor and the largest trading partner of Tunisia.
