Tunisia-Walid Jalled: All political parties have practiced populism

Walid Jalled, believed that all Tunisian parties have practised, at some point, populism in recent years, including in particular Nidâa Tounes, which has constructed its discourse on its refusal of political Islam. During an interview with a private radio, he added that “Saied is only the outcome of this populist political scene which has marked Tunisia throughout the last ten years”. “Parliament and political parties matter little today. Investors, experts and skills need to partake in the national dialogue,” he said. He considered that President Saied is like a teacher who refers the failure of his students to the failure of the education system.
