The Regional Trade and Industry Union in Sfax has announced it has decided to halt the payment of taxes if the state does not find prompt solutions to fix the environmental crisis in the region.
UTICA of Sfax has, in this sense, called on the supervisory authorities to interfere as soon as possible given that the file of the waste crisis in the governorate of Sfax entails rapid intervention and comprehensive and wide solutions. It added that the environmental situation in the region, represents more and more a menace for social peace, in addition to the dangerous risks on the environment in the absence of a general policy of waste management which makes it feasible to protect the rights populations to live in a healthy environment.
