Tunisia-Who is Akissa Bahri, proposed minster of Agriculture?

Akissa Bahri, has just been proposed for the post of Minister of Agriculture, Water Resources and Fisheries, served as Secretary of State for Water Resources in the government of Elyes Fakhfakh.
Born in 1956, she holds a master’s degree in management and accounting from the School of Economics and Management of Sfax and teaches at the National Institute of Agriculture of Tunis (INAT).

Bahri held the position of Coordinator of the African Water Facility at the African Development Bank (AfDB) and that of Regional Director for Africa at the International Institute of Water Management (Ghana, 2005-2010).

She is an Engineer who graduated from the National Agronomic School of Toulouse and the National Polytechnic Institute of Toulouse (1974 – 1977), she is also a Doctor of Engineering from the National Polytechnic Institute of Toulouse (1978 -1982), specializing in sciences and techniques in plant production and product quality.

She also prepared a second doctoral thesis in Sweden at the Institute of Science and Technology (Lund University).

She is an advisor to several international organizations in the field of water and has received several distinctions during her career.
