Tunisia – Why does Ennahdha has a vital interest in keeping Qalb Tounes bloc?

Undoubtedly, the detention and incarceration of Qalb Tounes President Nabil Karoui is bad, however, its quite bad for Ennahdha.

Furthermore, the leadership of the Islamist party promptly confirmed it is solidarity with the Qalb Tounes bloc and its supports for the party in this tough patch. The Islamists have hardly come to denounce this court decision.

You have to believe that the Islamists must have seriously needed their allies of the moment, particularly during this period. Why is that?

Well, quite simply because it appears that restlessness has been raging for the past few days, in the ranks of the opposition to the Parliament, to present the second motion of censure against Sheikh Rached Ghannouchi. And in this period, to overcome this motion, and reject it in plenary, Ennahdha demands all his strength and all the voices possible to be mobilized in favour of this cause. And its thinks, truly, that the move is not playable without the support of the votes of Qalb Tounes MPs

Swiftly, the first priority for Ennahdha is securing the allegiance of these deputies, and for that is by supporting them in any way, in this period of powerful turbulence that they are going through.
