Tunisia-Youssef Chahed denies existence of British donation

Former prime minister Youssef Chahed denied the information according to which Tunisia would have profited from a British donation.

Chahed clarified that donations are subject to standards and accords between countries and Britain has not presented any donations to Tunisia.

Moreover, he added that there is a capacity-building and technical assistance program between Tunisia and the UK since 2014.

This program is subject to a thorough audit and a plan prepared by specialists. . “The government has not received any UK funding or donations. The amount of $18 million does not exist either,” he said.
