Efforts to find survivors following a devastating earthquake have ended in nine out of 11 stricken provinces in Turkey, Yunus Sezer, head of the country’s Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD) confirmed on Sunday.
Sezer stated that rescue operations are still ongoing in Kahramanmaras, the site of the epicentre, and Hatay, one of the hardest-hit provinces. “We continue these efforts every day with the hope of reaching a living brother or sister,” the official said.
