Turkey pledges retaliation over US sanctions

Turkey ‘condemns and refuses ” the United States’ resolution to force sanctions over the S-400 procurement from Russia, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated on Monday.

In its official statement, the Turkish ministry pointed out the ruling will have a negative impact on their bilateral relationships, assuring for a retaliation “in a manner and timing it deems appropriate.”

The ministry’s release called United President Donald Trump as someone who “has admitted on many instances that Turkey’s acquisition was justified” and urged the US authorities to reconsider their decision.
