The French Ambassador to Turkey, Herve Magro, was summoned to the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday over the alleged “propaganda” against Ankara following the Paris shooting last week.
According to diplomatic sources cited by state-run news agencies, Turkish Foreign Ministry accused the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) of spreading false information about Ankara’s involvement in the shooting on December 23 “with the participation of French government officials and some politicians.”
The foreign ministry urged French authorities to “properly” look into the violent crimes committed by the “terrorist organization” on the streets of Paris. Representatives of the Kurdish community in France called for a “fair investigation” after the shooting, claiming the incident to be an “act of terrorism by Turkey,” that killed three members of the group.
