Kurdish security officials and Turkish media have reported that a Turkish diplomat was shot dead in the Iraqi Kurdish capital Erbil .The shooting took place at a restaurant in the city, according to security sources.
The Turkish diplomat was killed around 2.30pm local time in the city of Erbil when gunmen stormed inside and opened fire.
According to the “The independent” Ibrahim Kalin, a spokesperson for Turkey’s president Recep Tayyip Erdogan, described the shooting as a “treacherous attack” and vowed Ankara would give the “necessary response”
