Twitter names ex-Google CFO Patrick Pichette as new board chairman

Twitter Inc said on Tuesday that Patrick Pichette has been named the company’s new chairman of the company’s board.

Pichette will replace Omid Kordestani, who had served as chairman since October 2015 and stepped down on June 1. Kordestani will remain on the board as a non-employee director.

“Given the strength and depth of Twitter’s management team and Board, we believe that now is the right time to evolve our governance structure in-line with best practices,” Pichette, who has been the social media firm’s lead independent director since December 2018, stated.
