Two killed in attack on prison convoy in France

Two officers were killed in an attack on the prison convoy that was transporting an inmate in the Incarville commune in the French department of Eure, the country’s Justice Minister Eric Dupond-Moretti confirmed on Tuesday on X, formerly known as Twitter.

According to the media, the convoy was assaulted while transferring the inmate to the prison where he was allegedly supposed to serve 18 months over several aggravated thefts. The inmate, described as being 30 years old, escaped and is currently on the run.

The outlets added that 200 members of various security services have been deployed to assist in the search.
