A 5.5 magnitude earthquake hit Southern California on Wednesday, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported.
The epicenter was 17 kilometers south from Searles Valley, which has a population of 1,739.
The tremor struck the region at 6.8 kilometers, however, it remains unknown as of yet whether there were any casualties or damages.
