It would be better for the United States if health officials could start working with the Biden administration straight away to avoid a potential gap that may be caused by the transition from one administration to another, National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Director Dr Anthony Fauci announced.
“And it’s very clear that the transition process that we go through is really important in a smooth handing over of the information as well as it’s almost like passing the baton in a race. You don’t want to stop and then give it to somebody, you want to essentially keep going,” Fauci told CNN.
Things could get back to “relatively normal” by April or July in the United States, “if we get the overwhelming majority of people taking the vaccine,” Fauci asserted, pointing to the country’s fight against the coronavirus.
